Ericsson Opens First R&D Center in India

Ericsson opened its first R&D center in India on February 25, with the facility expected to focus on multimedia and pre-paid applications for mobile phones. During the opening ceremony of the center, located in the city of Chennai, the Swedish company stated that it plans to invest another US$100 million in India in the near future, although specifics about the new investment were not immediately disclosed.
